Meet Our Stylists

Our stylists are experienced, professional, and current – and we provide them with ongoing training in current cutting/colour techniques and Davines hair products.

Michael Vespa opened Vespa Hair Design in 2003. With more than 13 years experience as a hair stylist, colourist, platform artist and hair educator, he is committed to providing all Vespa Hair Design clients with technical expertise, contemporary cutting and colour techniques, and exceptional hair products in a relaxed and soothing environment.

Michael places a high value on staying current in cutting and colour techniques and provides his staff with ongoing training opportunities. He has studied under Martin Parsons and Stephane Gagnon (cutting); Lynn Zuzek and Aneta Kaminsky (colour); as well as receiving training from Davines, Matrix, Aveda, Redken and Wella.

As a hair educator for Martin Parsons and later for Matrix, Michael spent more than six years training other stylists and demonstrating techniques and products at numerous national hair shows. His technical expertise includes cutting technique, colour technique, and facial analysis. This enables him to provide his clients with a complete style that suits their face shape, skin tone, hair type, style ability, and lifestyles.

Michael received his hairstyling diploma from the Bay of Quinte Academy of Hair Design.

After completing the Hairstylist program at Marvel Beauty School in 1997 and apprenticeship in 1998, Victor briefly worked as a stylist before specializing in colouring in 1999. He joined Vespa Hair Designers in 2011 with over 12 years experience in colouring and highlighting at top salons in Ottawa.

Over the years Victor has worked with Wella (obtaining the Wella Master-Colourist certification), Davines (certified Davines Educator), Tigi Colour and most recently is very excited to be one of the first in North America to work with the new Italian brand Colorica. Victor’s work has been described as meticulous and highly precise. He takes pride in personalizing subtle nuances in shade and tone for individual clients’ natural pigmentation as well as their lifestyle and wardrobe. He is perhaps best known for his expertise is in foil highlighting, especially achieving natural looks that continue to look great as they grow out.

Carlos graduated from Versailles Academy in 2011, and began his career in Ottawa. After two years in Toronto, he has returned to Ottawa and joined Vespa Hair Design.

Carlos is an experienced stylist and colorist, including with the Davines colour line. He also provides braiding services, and is able to serve clients in English and Spanish

Amy has been a professional hair stylist since 2007. A graduate of marvel Academy she has pursued extensive additional training in cutting and colouring. She is an on-call educator for Revlon Professional Canada, and is currently working toward her Master-level training with Revlon.

Amy particularly enjoys creative colouring work. She loves animals, rides, motorcycles, and enjoys time with friends and family.
